Empty Room

If there was a shiver down my spine the first time I saw you,
Today, it became a raging cold that consumed the rest of my body,
I’m unable to shake it away; to brush it off,
I guess it’s the warmth of having you in our shared space –
Between our beds,
You with your red fiery passion,
Me with my clean slate.

If you sense hesitancy when we first met,
You weren’t wrong –
I even packed my bags to move away, barely one day in.
But I’m glad you still bear with my presence.
Because yes we came from different worlds,

But the Left has somehow united us.
